Political Cartoon- I chose this particular illustration because it is so hilarious but also very true. It represents the sheer confusion that was going on during the presidential race between Gore and Bush but also adds a humorous twist to it. The quote "Yep, we're in Florida alright" makes this cartoon so funny and it is the reason why i chose it

Project Citizen
The kids of New Byrd School are very inspirational. They brought new meaning to the phrase "Yes We Can". Throughout this passage, they use the word "we" and that shows that if we band together "we" can accomplish anything and age doesn't matter. To think that these are only elementary and high school students really blows my mind. Everything was so thoughout and organized, it made me think that these were high school and college students. "Using the project we learn how the government works and how we can make changes even as fifth graders." That one quote makes project citizen worth while.

The Best Canidate
First of all, just because the image shows a man doesn't mean that only men could get the job done. I feel that gender should play a role in this discussion at all. The person that I feel should represent the best candidate is a person that not only looks out for the betterment of the individual, but also the community as a whole. Also, my candidate will most likely be a liberal. Simply because (according to a political ideology quiz) I am. Honesty and loyalty are to major characteristics my candidate will have. The government is already filled with corrupt people and its about time for a dose of the truth. He/She also needs to be humble so he/she can inspire the American public. One person cannot change things all at once, it takes a nation to decide whether or not they want to be the country that is constantly keeping up with other countries or if they want to be the country that is doing the leading. With this canidate i believe there is hope for a brighter future

3's a crowd!!!
After watching the video on CNN about Tuft's University recently enforced rule of NO Fornication while your roommate is present is a good one. First of all, why would a person even do that while someone is in the room? That is completely disrespectful to the other person. Honestly, I think its kinda pathetic that the University has to make a rule to solve this problem. People should know better!

To die or NOT to die, That is the question
For many years I believed in the death penalty but now that I think about, I feel that it is indeed Cruel and Unusual punishment. I see the death penalty as the easy way out for criminals. The people that receive this so-called 'punishment' are murderers, they took the life of others. Aren't the prison workers doing the same thing while enforcing the death penalty? Whether its by lethal injection, electric chair, or firing squad, I feel that it is wrong. The victims that loose their lives to these murderers most likely didn't die easily. Prime example of this is the "Manson Murders". Another thing we also have to take into account are the families of the victims. They have to live with that pain forever and for the Murderer to just be killed does not amend the family's loss. To sum this up I would say that the death penalty is representative of Hollow Revenge.

Kanye West, "how could you be so Heartless"
Kanye West is known for his crazy antics and sudden outbursts, but what hapened at the VMA's was completly un-called for. But before I address that issue, I will talk about President Carter. I believe that he did make a good point but not completly true because although racism is still alive, I believe that when a person in the crowed yelled out "You Lie!" was not racist fueled. Now, for this Kanye West issue. Everybody knows that Kanye is always pushing the limits but his act at the VMA's crossed the line. He does have freedom of speech but because he offended so many people his rights were voided
